Welcome to the most branded part of my web presence.  My name is Rob and I am currently a full-time faculty member at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, WA.  I am a part of the Multimedia Design and Production department and I teach most of my classes in Video Production.  I have been involved in Film and Video Production for the past 10 years both as a student and professionally.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts Studies and a Master’s Degree in Mass Communications from Brigham Young University.  My work as an undergrad focused on Editing and Sound Design.  Some of the projects that I worked on can be seen in my Work Experience and Projects pages.

My work as a graduate student focused on the use of social media as a form of communication.  More particularly, I was interested in the gratifications obtained from the use of social media in relation to other forms of more traditional media.

Currently my interests lie in video/film production and the instructional technology that surrounds it.  I have a strong focus on the use of open web 2.0 technologies to aid in the learning process, and am in the process of developing a site for the common sharing of curriculum for video production instructors.  Initial thoughts on this project can be found on my blog VideoTechEd.
